United Kingdom: Natamycin in mascarpone

Limitations to apply Natamycin are strict around the world. A lot of countries do not let their use, United Kingdom allows the use depending the product. Natamycin can be used to conservation of mascarpone with an external treatment. The limit level in United Kingdom for these products is 10 µg/g. It’s a fungicide that prevents yeasts and moulds from appearing in foods. It doesn’t have bacterial action so it can be applied in food industry.

Countries regulate these data and establish restrictions on the use of the natamycin. It is important to check the law of United Kingdom.
